TNS 365 has launched Fleet Grove with the tree-planting company Treeapp. The programme plants a tree for every 10 breakdowns our fleet customers log online.
How it works
Since 1 October, each breakdown a customer reports through our Breakdown Assist portal counts towards its own Fleet Grove. For every 10 jobs, we fund a tree, planted by Treeapp in projects around the world where trees are needed most. The trees cost our customers nothing, and joining takes one click: nothing changes about how they report a breakdown.
A plot that grows with every job
Each customer gets its own plot on the portal, which gains a tree for every 10 breakdowns logged. Customers also collect awards as their plot grows, see an estimate of the CO2 their trees will absorb over their lifetime and the land restored, and receive a certificate at each milestone.
Cancelled jobs are excluded automatically, so the count only reflects real breakdowns. Tree orders are placed through Treeapp's API every two months, with no manual steps.
Why we built it
We have been moving customers from phone to online reporting, which is faster and more accurate for everyone, and fleets have taken to it quickly: breakdowns logged on our portal rose more than 35-fold in five months, from 12 in March to over 450 in August.
Fleet Grove opened for sign-ups a week ahead of launch, and the first fleet joined within fifteen minutes. Hauliers, fleet maintenance providers and refrigerated transport specialists have since signed up. Current portal volumes leave room for more than 40 trees a month as customers join, and more as further fleets move online. The first planting order goes in early December.
